Reputed to be somewhere in the region of 400 years old, 'The Prince of Wales' was considered to be one of Dorset 's oldest Inns. According to the history books, in 1930 Mr H. Barnes and his family were the landlords in residence when a spark from a steam engine delivering beer caught the thatched roof alight. The Inn was virtually burnt to the ground and had to be completely rebuilt, it is said the original ceiling beams in the public bar were used in the new building.

It was with considerable regret that these had to be removed to accommodate current building regulations.
The original Inn stood a pavement width from the road, but for some reason was rebuilt further back which conveniently provides the off road parking.

It is with considerable pride that Young and Partners have redesigned the interior to give it a new lease of life and accommodate the 4 luxury 2 bedroom apartments. Being the most dominant building in the High Street we are pleased to see it restored to it's original presence.
The modern accommodation is steeped in history and intrigue as the lounge in apartment 1 was traditionally the saloon bar and the lounge in apartment 2 the public bar, with 3 and 4 on the 1 st floor which has always been living accommodation
This is a rare opportunity to purchase a luxury apartment in a building which although not original can trace it's history through many generations.
